Proposal review process
-
How does the award process work?
Applicants who submit an application receive an automated email confirmation of application submission. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with the goal of providing decisions within 30 days of submission. At peak submission times, the process can take up to 120 days.Due to the volume of applications, expedited reviews are not available. Please plan accordingly. If your proposal is successful, the AWS Promotional Credit awarded is directly applied to your AWS account within 10 business days and is valid for the one year or until the AWS Promotional Credit has been fully used.
-
Will a reason be provided if my request is not approved?
Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming number of requests we receive, we are unable to provide detailed feedback on an individual basis. However, in general, we focus on the reusability of the expected outcome of the project and on the demonstrated efficacy of AWS for a research workload.
Examples of reusable outcomes include publicly available AMIs, code repositories, or reduced data sets. Proof of concept or other pilot projects that explore how well AWS services match with common research workloads are also of interest. These might include benchmarks or use case reports.
The AWS Cloud Credit for Research Program does not support administrative workloads, operational projects, or ongoing projects.
-
May I apply again if my project is not approved?
Yes. You may reapply, but please ensure that new application is a revised proposal and not simply a resubmission.
-
What are the timelines for proposal submissions and decisions?
We review applications on an on-going basis. We aim to have decision notifications sent out within 30 days of submission but decisions can take up to 120 days. Please plan accordingly.Note that decisions are sent from [email protected] and sometimes get routed to spam.
